Feyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

My decision to read ACOMAF right before ACOWAR’s release was a good call. It’s fantastic. I’m aligned with the people who claims that ACOMAF is far better than ACOTAR because it is.

The world grew larger in ACOMAF, and we ventured into the rich history of Prythian and there’s extensive character growth. The writing was amazing and the plot flowed nicely, nothing felt out of place or unnecessary. There’s a greater arc of the plot unlike ACOTAR where it’s just the situation with Tamlin.

I grew so close to The Inner Circle. They are so different, yet they fight for each other so fiercely. Their banters are what I live for.

Feyre became so much stronger and had such humane reactions of the things that happened Under the Mountain. She was able to stay true to who she is while taking in the idea of being Made into immortal.  Now I know why everyone has such ill-feelings towards Tamlin. It showed a tremedous amount of his personality and how he treats people.

I felt so lost when I closed ACOMAF. My mind was blown, my emotions are everywhere and I couldn’t contain my excitement and anxiousness for ACOWAR.

The sexual tension was off the roof in ACOMAF, it’s definitely not YA. Feysand will make beautiful babies, I hope they have wings so that Rhysand can fly around with them. SO GOOD!! So for younger readers or if you’re uncomfortable with such scences, have discresion!

very wordy spoilery section coming up! let me know your thoughts once you’re done with acomaf!!!

typing this review out 10 minutes after reading acomaf, so prepare yourself for a whole load of mispellings and grammar mistakes and plenty of fangirling and also raging emotions because I CAN’T DEAL WITH IT.

first of all, salutes to all the readers out there who managed to go through months of waiting for acowar. i don’t know how you guys did it, but i’m impressed because i just want to get my hands on the ginormous third book and lug it around with me wherever i go. i’m that desperate for it. no shame.

now, the ending. holy marcaroni. what was that all about?! i knew it was a trap because nothing ever goes smoothly. when they got into hybern, and got to the cauldron, it was too easy, and i was already expecting for the worst. but it’s worse than i expected. fml. i just couldn’t handle the fact that rhys and feyre’s mate bond was nearly cleaved thanks to freaking tamlin and his freaking obessession with feyre. i was so close to tears until in rhysand’s chapter that i found out it wasn’t severed, just the bargain.  oh and ianthe, i hope feyre punched her in the face in acowar. ugh. and she better not be pregnant with tamlin’s child or whatever nonsense. sarah j maas said that calanmai happened in acomaf, so tamlin had to do the ritual and everything, and with sneaky ianthe, YOU NEVER KNOW.

it was heartbreaking, could literally hear my heart shatter, when rhys said that he would’ve let feyre marry tamlin because she love tamlin and because rhys love her. because that would be what she wanted. he spent months knowing that they were mates yet she laid with another male. i was CRYING. his time with amarantha caused me so much pain. oh my heart.

with so much on feyre’s plate, i’m seriously hoping that nesta and elain don’t give her too much hatred for indirectly landing them into the cauldron. that moment when nesta looked at the bleeding cassian who tried to save her but was knocked down when she was getting carried to the cauldron was horrifying. but nesta, you do know that he tried right? please don’t hate him.

when feyre used her summer court powers to conjure the water wolves and eagles and falcons to defend the rainbow square, my heart soooooared. one because i love wolves. two because she’s finally using her powers in greater scale. three because she’s finally fighting. the fight scene between her and the attor. my goodness, it was a spectacle. i wanted to cry when she said clare’s name.

i had an inkling about the mortal queens too, greedy and naive. what a combination. i was upset that the golden-haired queen was killed because she helped by giving them the book, i love that she love and believe in love. rhys and feyre’s love. her love for a better world. and the sixth queen, who do you think she is? a new character or an old one?

my otps: mor and az, rhys and feyre, elain and lucien, nesta and cassian

also, the sexy times, were steamy AF. sarah j maas does know how to write them. i was filled with glee that they finally came to their feelings and said they love each other, and when their mating bond just snapped into place. i was in bliss.

now i know why you guys despise tamlin so much. he’s a jerk and delusional. he has some serious anger management to do. there was a scene when he promised feyre that he wouldn’t put so many guards around her which lasted for what felt like two bloody seconds?! and the scene when he immediately asked for information about the night court instead of letting feyre rest. seriously? your ‘wife’ went through such an ordeal and you just want information?! but i also think that he has a serious case of depression of some sort, or trauma, can somebody enlighten me what it is? that losing feyre hit him really hard and he couldn’t handle it somehow? i hope it will be explained in acowar though, not that i’ll like tamlin any more than i do now. my heart will forever be with feysand.

i wanted to like lucien but for now, his undying loyalty to tamlin is putting the possibilities of liking him in the backseat. after witnessing tamlin’s doings on feyre, yet he didn’t do anything. but i didn’t expect lucien and elain to be mates. i find that really cute. lucien’s not going to have an easy time in acowar, fighting between wanting to save his mate and going against tamlin’s wishes.

reasons why rhysand became one of my fav:

  1. calls feyre, feyre darling.
  2. teaching feyre how to read with “you look absolutely delicious today, feyre” as the first sentence
  3. doesn’t cage feyre like she’s a beautiful, wounded bird. let’s her make her own decisions, becomes overprotective when someone insults her. turn cheeky whenever he’s with her.
  4. “you’re my salvation, feyre”

  5. protects his people and his court with everything he has, including his own being.
  6. accepts mor, cassian, az and amren as they are.
  7. he spent YEARS under the clutches of evil amarantha yet because of feyre and dreaming, he found hope. I LOVE IT.
  8. because feyre is all he wanted.

i’ve never expected to like rhysand as much as i do. he’s such a sweet-talker, and cheeky, a defender and protector of his people. and i’m just sitting here like please be with feyre forever and always, and nothing happens to anybody, and live happily ever after. feyre and rhys are my precious otp.

That’s the end of my review, do let me know what you think about ACOMAF!!! NEED SOMEONE TO FANGIRL WITH

“A special strength in enduring such dark trials and hardships… And still remaining warm, and kind. Still willing to trust – and reach out.”

love. belle.

(my aesthetic for a court of mist and fury)
