the aesthete blogger award

Hello! I was tagged by Susana @Susana Loves Books to do The Aesthete Blogger Award ❀ Thank you so much for nominating me, Susana. I had a wonderful time answering your questions and coming up with new ones.

Haven’t been posting much recently because there are some pretty big changes in my life. Also, since it’s nearing the end of the year, I’m feeling a little lazy with coming up blog ideas and actually sitting down to write them. With December nearing, I’m excited to see what everyone will be up to! I don’t celebrate Christmas much here but I’m hoping some for chill time.

Questions:

Tell me a something about this world that you admire.

One thing I admire about is the resilience of people. Personally, I live a pretty comfortable and carefree life. My parents are amazing human beings who sacrificed things just so that they can bring my sister and I up. My childhood is fun and free of worries. I have my own shares of downs but nothing too devastating.

In recent years, I’ve met people who had faced and is experiencing pretty shitty things in life. One of my closest friends has to work towards what she want without the support of the people who should love her the most. I admire her bravery, resilience, and drive to achieve her dreams.

In the midst of upsetting situations, I admire how humans are able to bounce back up.

What is your favourite form of creativity?

Most probably music. Grew up listening to all sorts of songs from English to Chinese to Korean and joined Choir for my CCA in secondary school. I love memorising lyrics more than my textbook contents.

Susana’s Questions:

What is one place/country you would love to visit it?

NEW ZEALAND. Can I please go there now? For Asia, it’s probably South Korea. Went there before the whole pandemic started and had a grand time. I just want to go back there for all the food.

Do you have any pets?

Sadly, no. I’ve always wanted a dog but my parents never approved of it. 😭

What is your most anticipated book release of this year?

How do I answer this? There are so many!! A release that I’ve read already is Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao. For one that hasn’t been released, it’s Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee. Is anyone even surprised?

If you could make any wish, what would it be?

Just want a happy, healthy life that is worry-free for my loved ones.

My Questions:

  1. If you could do anything right now, what would it be? No limitations, no restrictions.
  2. Have you completed your Goodreads challenge this year?
  3. What’s the one book that you want to reread again and again?
  4. How has 2021 treated you?
