winter wonderland book tag πŸŽ„βœ¨

Welcome to the Winter Wonderland book tag! ❄️ Born and raised in a hot and sunny country, I’ve never experienced true winter before. Always been fascinated with celebrating Christmas during this season when it’s cold and snowing. I was tagged by the lovely Tasya @ The Literary Huntress, and had a fun time coming up with my answers. Here we go!

Questions

One: What book is so happy and so sweet that it just warms your heart?

I absolutely loved The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas. Although the couple started on rocky terms, this slow burning, enemies-to-lovers, unrequited love, and fake dating melted my heart. Although Aaron always quarrels with Lina, he remembers everything about her. Their feelings made me warm and fuzzy inside whenever I think about the book. Probably my favorite romance novel of the year.

Two: What’s your favourite book with a white cover?

June Hur’s The Forest of Stolen Girls pops into my head immediately. The author incorporated the murder mystery elements in the Joseon era setting perfectly. I want all of her books to be adapted into movies so badly. When she was little, Hwani and her younger sister were kidnapped but eventually found near a horrifying crime scene. Brought up apart, the two sisters have to solve their father’s disappearance which is linked to the thirteen missing girls. Hands down favroite book with a white cover.

Three: You’re sitting in a nice, comfortable chair with a cup of hot chocolate. What monster book are you reading?

Although Heaven Official’s Blessing is separated into five books, I’m just going to lump the 2000 pages together and call it a monster novel. While the contents can be intense as fuck, the whole franchise is my current obsession and will probably remain this way for a long, long time. Xie Lian and Hua Cheng’s love can conquer it all, including my heart.

Four: It’s snowing outside and you decide you want to have a snowball fight. What fictional character do you want to have this snowball fight with?

Continuing from my previous answer, it would be Xie Lian from Heaven Official’s Blessing. BUT! I think Hua Cheng will murder me immediately if I hurt the love of his life.

Five: Sadly, your campfire is dying. What last few chapters of a book would you throw in the fire to revive it and keep yourself warm?

Eh, any problematic book out there honestly.

Six: What book do you love so much that you would buy another copy of it to give to someone as a Christmas gift (or any gift really) to inspire them to start reading?

Little Thieves by Margaret Owen surpassed all my expectations. Vanja started out to be a villain-like character and ended up being a wonderful character instead. Essentially, the maid stole the princess’s identity but is cursed to turn into jewels if she doesn’t break the curse. Other than Ragne’s help, the “princess” has to trial and error this whole situation herself.

Seven: Who do you tag?

Gauri @ A Book and Chai | Inah @ Fueled by Chapters | Amanda @ Bookish Brews

  1. Loved reading your answers so much!! Little Thieves has been on my TBR since quite some time, but i wasn’t excited about it or anything, but an MC that started out as a villain, THAT SOUNDS SO EXCITING! The Spanish Love deception and the forest of stolen girl are also both very high on my TBR, so glad to see they’re some of your favorites, now im even more excited to read them!!!
