Volume 1

Long awaited Volume 2 to The Scum Villain Self-Saving System. I was filled with excitement because I wanna know what is going to happen between Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu after the latter kicked the former down the Endless Abyss after stabbing him. Seems like Luo Binghe had record breaking motivation (total opposite from my procrastinating butt) and rose to great heights pretty quickly while Shen Qingqiu is buried in the ground.

Now, let’s head into what happened in Volume 2 and my thoughts about it!

It has been 3 years since Luo Binghe was pushed into the Endless Abyss. Shen Qingqiu spent most of his time wandering about the outside world instead of staying at Qing Jing Peak.

@ Jin Lan City

Liu Qingge, Shen Qingqiu, and Mu Qingfang went to Jin Lan City to investigate a situation. There, they met the Huan Hua masters who went to investigate earlier but didn’t return. The disease is like a rot. To delay the progression, one avoid exposure to light and the elements by wearing black cloth. Those infected can survive for only one month. If anyone were to leave the city, the infected will die quickly.

System is back from hibernation and updated once Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu finally met!! lol, the whole time Shen Qingqiu talked to Luo Binghe, it’s with suspicion and peak awareness.

Luo Binghe had been in Huan Hua Palace for a year, but the master ordered it to be a secret and not let outsiders know. Within that duration, our favorite demon boy took over Gongyi Xiao’s position as the most trusted disciple. [ouch.. that must’ve hurt]

Also, we find out that Luo Binghe fed people his blood for

and he fed Shen Qingqiu his blood [seems like it???? but probably more for GPS].

The situation at Jin Lan City was solved and a cure was made. But~~ Qiu Haitang, the downfall of Original Shen Qingqiu, made an appearance. In the original plot, he killed her entire family and her testimony was what led to Shen Qingqiu’s imprisonment and death by Luo Binghe. Of course, Qiu Haitang was part of Luo Binghe’s harem.

@ Water Prison, Huan Hua Palace

Shen Qingqiu was captured and kept at the Water Prison awaiting his trial.

The Jin Lan City plot didn’t exist in the original story. Luo Binghe should have been levelling up underground still.

Luo Binghe couldn’t help but visit his shizun in the Water Prison. He passed Shen Qingqiu his robe cause beloved shizun was shivering, but Shen Qingqiu wondered “hadn’t Luo Binghe given girls this exact robe every time after they had sex?!” [HAHAHHAH SQQ IS BEWILDERED. how is he still so clueless?🤣🤣]

Shen Qingqiu received a letter mixed in Chinese and English from Shang Qinghua. [gotta say this is smart. only the two of them would’ve understood what’s going on.] The content is about the Sun-Moon Dew Mushroom they were growing.

With Gongyi Xiao’s help, Shen Qingqiu escaped.

When Luo Binghe found Shen Qingqiu, the latter was wearing Gongyi Xiao’s white robe for better blending with the crowd (instead of wearing Luo Binghe’s black robe), and Luo Binghe was jealous~

Somehow, somewhere, Gongyi Xiao was dead. [what the fu?? i hope LBH didn’t do this. because, for what?]

While fighting, Shen Qingqiu died of self-detonation in front of Luo Binghe.

“For all that has passed, I repay you today.”

5 years later,

Cang Qiong Mountain and Huan Hua Palace have been fighting each other. Luo Binghe is now the head of Huan Hua Palace. After Shen Qingqiu’s death, Luo Binghe took his body back and refused to return it to Cang Qiong Mountain as per tradition.

Shen Qingqiu died for real but used the Sun-Moon Dew Mushroom to cultivate a living body to hold his soul. He zombie-crawled out of the dirt when he’s back.

Rumor: Luo Binghe was the only one who harboured impure thoughts towards Shen Qingqiu [i would like to say this rumor must’ve been spread by fellow danmei fans who saw the signs.]

THEY KISSED FOR THE FIRST TIME ON PAGE, BUT NOT IN REAL LIFE FOR THEM CAUSE THEY’RE IN THE DREAM REALM BUT I’M EXCITEDDDDD 😘🎉

Finally, Shen Qingqiu knew why Luo Binghe never cared for a woman. [FINALLY HE UNDERSTANDS. i’ve been waiting too long for this realization]

@ Huan Hua Palace

Shen Qingqiu helped Liu Qingge retrieve his body from Luo Binghe. He was, then, knocked out and was saved by someone. That someone is Zhuzhi-Lang, who fed his blood to Shen Qingqiu, Luo Binghe’s cousin [so now he can use the blood in SSQ as a sex tool 🤢😂]. He was the weird thing that had a small piece of the Dew Mushroom in Bai Lu Mountain after Shen Qingqiu left (end of book 1).

@ Warm Red Pavilion

Zhuzhi-Lang brought Shen Qingqiu to the brothel. It was there when Shen Qingqiu heard the Regret of Chunshan ballad that starred him and Luo Binghe. [seems like everyone except SQQ knew what was going on.] Shen Qingqiu managed to escape.

Luo Binghe always knew that the Shen Qingqiu in his dream was real. At least after the first time. [i guess when the real SQQ appeared, he became more aware of LBH. hahahha]

Andddd someone stole Shen Qingqiu’s body again.

Although the review/recap/rant of The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System Volume 2 by Moxiang Tongxiu is shorter, I still enjoyed it to the fullest. I was busy reading and didn’t notice that I wasn’t taking notes until the end of the book. That’s how you know that the book was engrossing.

Shen Qingqiu FINALLY knows about Luo Binghe’s lack of harem in this alternate story. After the ending of Volume 1, I was waiting to read about the interactions between Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu when they reunited. I had so much fun!
